Technical Cybernetics Department

conducts recruitment of students for study in specialty

“Flexible computerized systems and robotics“

Education supported by state budget or individual contract

Students get conscription delay during educational period.

Why do students choose exactly Department of Technical Cybernetics?

Because system engineering enables to use practically scientific, analytical, engineering and management skills, required to form a powerful tool in solving problems of technical management, development of special modern technologies, business planning and its components etc. Department of Technical Cybernetics gives a chance to approach intriguing problems of human natural intelligence that defines the most difficult forms of intellectual activity. This opens new prospects for a cluster of modern innovative technologies, focused on natural-language information.

Educational process forms and degrees

There are full-time study, study without discontinuing work and contract forms of education. Students are currently prepared for such degrees:

  • Bachelor degree of system engineering in the area "Flexible computerized systems, automation and control” (studying period is 4 years);
  • Master degree of computer systems specialty "Flexible computerized systems and robotics” (studying period is 6 years).

After 4 years of study students have the opportunity to get qualification of marketing manager in “Industrial Marketing” for two years (evening course) in parallel with their major study. Form of parallel education is payable.

Further scientific practice for masters and engineers is available via postgraduate and doctoral study department and the Research Institute for System Technology.

Depth and versatility are the main features of education received at the Department of Technical Cybernetics. This allows graduate students to adapt in solving different problems in any sector of activity in all stages of production, construction of mathematical models and the choice of method of solution in hardware and software development at manufactures, research institutions, in banks, large variety of firms, which is extremely important in modern terms.

Areas of educational process

Material basis

The department created five classes of modern personal computers, combined in a computer network running Windows 2000 and UNIX with access to the INTERNET and to the University network.

For all years of study, students learn and apply in practice for development of integrated computer systems:

  • Languages: C + +, Pascal, Assembler
  • Visual Design Systems: Delphi, Visual Basic, Visual C + +, Visual FoxPro, Java Builder

Also students study how to work using operating environments Windows, Windows 2000, UNIX and LINUX, discover packages for the Internet browsing, learn about graphics packages, Adobe Illustrator, 3D STUDIO MAX and Corel Draw, multimedia applications, useful tools, antivirus software, archives etc.

In solving engineering problems students use mathematical packages MathCAD and MathLab, the system of automatic design of AutoCAD, PCAD, as well as modern database management systems, including Oracle, MS SQL.

Students can practically learn the latest software via obtaining international qualifications in the University Education Center of Microsoft, which operates at the Department of Technical Cybernetics since 2004.

During educational process are used:

Operating Systems: Windows, Unix, Linux; DBMS: Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL;

CAD: AutoCAD, Компас, PCAD;

Packets of document preparation: Quark Express, Page Maker;

Programming languages and environments: C#, C++, Builder, Delphi, PHP, Java, Ada, Prolog,VHDL;

Graphic Packs: 3D Studio MAX, Maya, Photoshop;

Math packages: MathCAD, MathLAB, Mathematica;

Simulation of electronic circuits: Electronics Workbench.

Areas of training:

Training is focused on such fields as:

  • research and design of flexible integrated computerized management systems in production and business;
  • creation and maintenance of flexible problem-oriented information retrieval systems and knowledge bases in the design, simulation, industrial control, commercial and financial management, environmental monitoring etc;
  • development of modeling methods supported by systems, which are based on the knowledge and the creation the combined intellectual real-time systems for industrial, technical, commercial and other uses;
  • creation of new technologies for representation and processing of knowledge in applied artificial intelligence systems in flexible computer systems;
  • development and applying hypertext systems, systems of navigation and manipulation information arrays in Internet and other large and global communication networks;
  • development and implementation of local and distributed information and computer networks and systems for banking, insurance and exchange structures;
  • modeling based on neural networks with simultaneously working problem-oriented processors and programs for solving intellectual problems in flexible computer systems.

Areas:

Bachelors successfully work as:

  • heads program development;
  • project managers;
  • administrators of computer systems and networks;
  • assistants in computer science fields from the scientific, industrial and commercial banking institutions of different ownership.

Experts of this specialty are trained to work as system integrators in corporate networks, integrated computer systems for businesses and organizations. They are targeted at building artificial intelligence systems and the creation of the fifth generation of computers that can effectively perform calculations, store knowledge and communicate with users of natural language.

Training allows them to work as leading experts in the development and exploitation of:

  • telecommunication and computer networks;
  • local and distributed information systems;
  • applied Intelligent systems;
  • systems of intellectual support computerized manufacturing;
  • secure and highly reliable flexible computer systems;
  • integrated computer information processing systems;
